The Sherman Brothers, Samuel French Inc., Mint Theater to Receive Theatre Museum Awards

The Academy and Grammy Award-winning Sherman Brothers will receive the Theatre Museum's Career Achievement Award in a ceremony to be held on May 17 at The Players Club.

At the event, a Theatre Museum Arts Education Award will be presented to Samuel French Inc. and the Mint Theatre will receive the Theatre History Preservation Award. Presenters will include Disney Theatrical Group president Tom Schumacher, Tappan Wilder, and actor George Morfogen.

Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman won Oscars and Grammy Awards for his scores for Mary Poppins and The Jungle Book. The Sherman Brothers' other credits include songs for Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Bedknobs and Broomsticks, The AristoCats, and several Winnie the Pooh movies. On Broadway, their songs have been heard in the stage adaptations of Mary Poppins and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang as well as in the musical Over Here!
