Final Casting Set for 92nd Street Y's Lyrics & Lyricists

Final casting has been announced for the remaining programs of The 92nd Street Y's 2009 season of Lyrics & Lyricists, the first under the stewardship of artistic director Deborah Grace Winer.

The series continues April 4-6, with Sunny Side Up: Roaring Through the Twenties with DeSylva, Brown & Henderson, created by artistic director Robert Kimball and featuring stage direction and choreography by Randy Skinner, musical direction by Joseph Thalken and Vince Giordano. It will be hosted by Charles Osgood and feature Nancy Anderson, Jeffry Denman, Jason Graae, Randy Graff, and Meredith Patterson.

Rex Reed will host and direct The Man That Got Away: Ira After George, May 9-11, which looks at the work Ira Gershwin wrote with such composers as Jerome Kern, Harold Arlen, and Kurt Weill. It will be directed by Caitlin Carter, with musical direction by Tedd Firth. Guest artists will include Lucie Arnaz, Polly Bergen, Linda Purl, Kurt Reichenbach, and Tom Wopat.

The series will conclude with Billy Stritch's program Sunday in New York: Mel Tormé In Words and Music, June 6-8, to be co-written and directed by Mark Waldrop. The cast will feature La Tanya Hall, Hilary Kole, Marilyn Maye, and Johnny Rodgers.
