Jude Law is set to star alongside Matt Damon in Stephen Soderbergh's action-thriller Contagion, according to a report in Variety. The movie is scheduled to begin filming later this year.

Contagion centers on the threat posed by a deadly disease. Like the director's movie Traffic, it is expected to follow multiple plotlines within its scenario.

Law made his Broadway debut earlier this season in Hamlet, recreating his Olivier Award-nominated performance. He received Academy Award nominations for his performances in Cold Mountain and The Talented Mr. Ripley (which also starred Damon). Among his many other movie credits are Sherlock Holmes, The Aviator, Closer, and Breaking and Entering.
