Broadway veteran Brooke Shields will guest star on the January 6 episode of the hit ABC sitcom The Middle.

The series stars stage veteran and Emmy Award winner Patricia Heaton as the mother of a family struggling to survive life in small-town Indiana. Shields will play Rita, a "less than proper" neighbor of the family.

Shields appeared on Broadway in Chicago and Wonderful Town. Her many film and television credits include The Blue Lagoon, Endless Love, Suddenly Susan and Lipstick Jungle.
