Programming has been announced for the Spoleto Festival USA, to be held May 23-June 8 in Charleston, South Carolina.

Theater entries will include The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea, which plays this month at New York's PS 122, Mark Bamhuti Joseph's the break/s, which will debut at this year's Humana Festival, The Nottingham Theatre Company's production of The Burial at Thebes, Hotel Modern's production of The Great War, and The Be(a)st of Taylor Mac.

Other events will include a production of the opera Amistad by Anthony Davis and Thulani Davis, Chen Shi-Zheng's music theater piece Monkey: Journey to the West, and performances by Laurie Anderson, the Boston Ballet, Gerry Hemingway, Paula West, the Westminster Choir, and many others.
