Barnard College's Department of Theater has begun a collaboration with the nonprofit company New Georges to launch "New Plays at Barnard," a program to showcase works by emerging playwrights.

The inaugural production will stage Lauren Feldman's The Egg-Layers to the stage. The show runs March 1-3 in the Glicker-Milstein Theatre of The Diana Center on Barnard's Morningside Heights campus.

The Egg-Layers riffs on the Greek myth of Leda and the swan, and brings this disturbing story powerfully into the present: a performance of healing, revenge, and a search for the divine. The play is directed by Barnard Assistant Professor of Professional Practice Alice Reagan.
