Preview the future of opera at this contemporary opera lab that offers composers and librettists the opportunity to workshop their previously unproduced compositions, hearing them performed by City Opera's full orchestra and roster of exceptional soloists. Excerpts on this program are: All Three Acts of a Sad Play Performed Entirely in Bed Dag Gabrielsen, composer Julie Larios, librettist Faustine Arlene Sierra, composer Lucy Thurber, librettist Mary Shelley Allan Jaffe, composer Deborah Atherton, librettist Sun Yat-Sen Huang Ruo, composer Candice Chong, librettist The Beach Andrew Gerle, composer Royce Vavrek, librettist Vinkensport David T. Little, composer Royce Vavrek, librettist Ticketholders to Saturday's session are invited to attend a panel discussion, Producing Art in Alternative Spaces, beginning at 1:00 pm. An artist talkback will follow the afternoon's performance.
