Valerie Simpson made music history with her late husband and partner Nick Ashford, writing hit after hit for Motown's top acts--including "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" for Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell, later made famous by Diana Ross, and "I'm Every Woman" for Chaka Khan--and later going on to record and release some smash hits of their own. Following Ashford's death in 2011, Simpson has returned to the music scene with her first solo album in more than four decades, a sensual collection of tunes and ballads that continues the Ashford & Simpson legacy.
