Valarie Pettiford received a Tony nomination for her performance in Fosse, and is the recipient of the 2007 Backstage Bistro Award. She earned three NAACP Image Award nominations for her portrayal as Big Dee Dee Thorne in Half & Half. She also recorded an album titled Hear My Soul.
