The Abrons Arts Center welcomes singer/songwriter Rav Shmuel for the 3rd installment of this season's Underground at the Abrons series. According to Billboard Magazine, "Rav Shmuel's solo debut is an immediately likable bit of good-humored anti-folk that doesn't require the visuals or even the knowledge that, yes, Rav Shmuel really is a Hasidic rabbi ... like the old slogan for Levy's Rye Bread used to say, you don't have to be Jewish to enjoy Rav Shmuel." With a newly released album, a hit video, and a MySpace page that playfully boasts over 8,000,000,000 friends, the good rabbi is fast becoming one of music's must-see performers.

Kicking off the evening is Rob Jost's Public Garden, the solo project of accomplished bassist and songwriter Rob Jost. One third of the notable NYC band Ursa Minor, Jost steps out with an array of his own compositions, displaying a knack for lyrical imagery and a musical approach that's sophisticated in its simplicity.
