WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Staceyann Chin headlines There Has to Be a Way: A Common Ground Cabaret, a cabaret-style benefit to raise money for Common Ground Collective (CGC), a group doing Hurricane Katrina recovery work in New Orleans. Also performing at the cabaret are David Cale and Less the Band (featuring Adam Rapp, Paul Sparks, Ray Rizzo, Michael Chernus, and Rob Beitzel). The evening is hosted by Amelia Zirin Brown, a.k.a. Lady Rizo, caburlesque performer and actress. CGC's projects include running free health clinics, offering free legal counseling, and providing free house gutting. To date, CGC has assisted more than 50,000 New Orleans residents. $50.00 & $75.00 ticket holders are invited to a free cocktail hour beginning at 6:30pm. There will also be a silent art auction featuring pieces donated by artists from around the country.
