Hard to believe that the weekend of the 40th anniversary of Woodstock is upon us. While there was big talk of it, there are no big festivals in place this year but several little moments happening in celebration all around New York State the same weekend. So in honor of a very important cultural event, Anisette has decided throw an concert to celebrate and honor Woodstock.
Still relatively unknown to the public in this country, Anisette from The Savage Rose holds many an honored place with not only the rock and roll media but also from other musicians who have inspired her. Björk has stated several times that she is one of her favorite singers and inspirations. In the book 'The Unknown Legends of Rock'n'Roll, she and the band are listed as one the rare true ORIGINATORS of the music of today. However, as noted by Rolling Stone's David Fricke, is far from nostalgia, and "not a prisoner of history because she never stopped making it". To prove this, their 19 albums have been Gold, Platinum, Double Platinum, up to four times Platinum in Scandinavia. They have 2 Scandinavian Grammies for best singer, BLACK ANGEL (1996) and TAMELESS (1999); innumerable Grammy nominations in general and a Film Academy Award for best film score & song.
