WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Josh Lucas, Jeremy Shamos, and T. Ryder Smith star in a staged reading of The Unauthorized Moving Picture of John Dillinger, a new pre-Code gangster play by Bruce Kronenberg. The play is set in 1934 in a remote vacation lodge in the woods of Northern Wisconsin where Public Enemy Number One, John Dillinger, is hiding out with his crew after a bank job. While there, he has agreed to meet with two men from Hollywood who are interested in making a movie based on his life. Moving at a taut, machine-gun pace with dialogue straight out of a 1930's gangster movie, the two worlds collide. And what begins as mutual fascination, ends up as life or death. The reading takes place at Manhattan Theatre Club, 311 West 43rd Street, 8th Floor, Studio 2, and will be followed by a wine and cheese reception.
