WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
City Center Encores! presents The Pajama Game. The musical features a book by George Abbott and Richard Bissell, with lyrics by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross. Set in Midwest America of the 1950s, the play centers around labor strife in a pajama factory. Sid, the new Superintendent, comes into the factory determined to make his mark and demonstrate his authority. Of course, firing the girl you love may not be the best way to go about it. Will common sense prevail? John Rando directs, and John Carrafa choreographs.
Monday, May 6 will be a City Center Gala Benefit. Tickets range from $100 (for the performance only) to $25,000 (for a pre-show dinner, orchestra seating, and a post-show cast party.)

All the more reason to be happy that Bissell and George Abbott transformed the narrative about a management-labor dispute at a pajama factory into a breezy tuner in
1954 and that, [...]
