WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
The summer of 1945. A small town in Georgia.
Tomboy Frankie shares her crazy dreams with her worldly wise maid Berenice. Desperate to be part of the sophisticated life of her newly-married brother, she schemes to leave home as a 'member' of his wedding.
The big hit of the 1950 Broadway season, The Member of the Wedding is an American classic. Beneath its gentle surface, there's the violence about to rock the USA. And there's a young girl struggling to become a woman - and a woman watching the good time of her life slip by.
