For the second year in a row Andy Cooney will headline The Magic of Christmas at Carnegie Hall. Andy has just released a Christmas CD called The Magic of Christmas, recorded with Ireland's National Concert Orchestra. The show at Carnegie Hall will feature many of the traditional and popular songs from this album including 'Oh Come All Ye Faithful', 'Sleigh Ride', 'Oh Holy Night', 'Silver Bells' , 'I'll Be Home For Christmas' and more. Andy will be presenting special guest, Grammy Award winning singer, Crystal Gayle, famous for her signature song 'Don't it Make My Brown Eyes Blue'. and fiddle player extraordinaire, Eileen Ivers,, the original fiddle player in Riverdance, Eileen has been called the "Jimi Hendrix of the violin" by the New York Times, bridging the gap between her Celtic roots and the ethnic beats of Latin, Jazz and African music. Andy's 13 year old son Ryan Cooney, who made his singing debut at Carnegie Hall last Christmas and brought the house down with his rendition of the 'Little Drummer Boy', returns for an encore performance. The orchestra is conducted by Gearoid Grant who has been the conductor of the National Youth Orchestra of Ireland since it was formed in 1980. The choirs include the Festival Youth Chorus, directed by Eily O'Grady Patterson, and is comprised of children who hail from the NY area and the Fordham University Choir, directed by Robert Minotti.
