WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Pierre Corneille's The Liar is the first truly great comedy of the classic French theater. Romantic mayhem reaches classic heights when Dorante falls for Clarice but mistakes her identity for that of her friend Lucrèce. Add the fact that Dorante is a compulsive liar who digs himself deeper into trouble every time he opens his mouth, and the result is a giddy spiral of hilarious confusion.
