WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Murph and Joey, wise-cracking hoodlums with nothing to lose, wander the streets of New York looking for kicks. Gupta, disoriented and far from home, makes an ideal target. Even as idle taunting turns into violence and rage, Horovitz's heroes are brilliantly lucid about their frustration with the world. The original 1968 production won three Obie Off-Broadway awards - including Best Play and Best Actor, for Al Pacino in his break-through role.
