WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

The Great American Cowboy in Concert will feature beloved cowboy classics including "Song of the Trail," "Tumbling Tumbleweeds," "A Cowboy Has to Sing," "Cool Water," and "Happy Trails," plus a host of new Western songs that are destined to be tomorrow's classics. Hosted by Johnny Western, this concert is guaranteed to delight the cowboy in everyone, young and old!

The talent roster for the evening includes:

Prairie Rose Wranglers: The in-house entertainers at the Prairie Rose Chuckwagon Supper in Wichita, Kansas. Recently nominated for Western Group of The Year and Western Album Of The Year at The Western Music Awards (WMA), the group is slated to release its sixth album.

Riders in The Sky: A Grammy Award winning foursome founded in 1977. Their extensive credits include a Saturday morning TV series on CBS and "Woody's Roundup" from Toy Story.

Roy Rogers Jr.: A film, TV and recording artist and the son of Roy Rogers and Dale Evans.

Joe Sullivan: The only impersonator authorized by Hopalong Cassidy Enterprises. He has been portraying "Hoppy" for over 15 years.

Johnny Western: Known as one of the last of the "Singing Cowboys." Having written such classics as "Ballad of Paladin" and co-writing the theme song for TV's Bonanza, Western often performed with Gene Autry and Johnny Cash.

Mindy "Rogers" Petersen: The eldest granddaughter of Roy Rogers and Dale Evans.

Flying W Wranglers: The 2nd oldest Western group in the world. Specializing in three and four part harmonies, they have recorded 38 albums.

The Children of the Independent School of Wichita: A group of 150 musically gifted middle school children from this acclaimed Kansas institution.

Jeff Hildebrandt: Nominated for the Academy of Western Artists Cowboy Poet of the Year. His poem "Cowboy Up America" is heard on radio stations nationally. He is currrently managing producer for the Western Movie Channel.
