WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
The Irish Arts Center presents Irish Literature on Film, an opportunity to see some of Ireland's best-loved novels and plays in their cinematic format.
Richard Harris was nominated for a Best Actor Acaedmy Award for his towering performance in The Field where he portrayed Bull McCabe, a man who refused to give up his cherished field to an American land developer. Based on John B. Keane's powerful 1965 drama The Field deals with an issue that has been at the heart of Irish conflicts for centuries the ownership of the land.
All proceeds raised at the event will go towards the continued promotion and celebration of Irish culture in New York City.
