WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Curtis alumnus Alan Gilbert, music director-designate of the New York Philharmonic, conducts the Curtis Symphony Orchestra in a program that includes Beethoven, Samuel Barber, and Carl Nielsen. One of the world's leading music schools, The Curtis Institute of Music provides its 162 students with a uniquely tailored education that has produced an impressive number of notable artists, from Leonard Bernstein and Samuel Barber to Hilary Hahn, Alan Gilbert, and Lang Lang. All students receive full-tuition scholarships based on merit, ensuring that talent is the sole consideration for admission.
