French-American multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Sydney Wayser, praised by NPR for her "natural gift for melody and musicianship", demonstrates a maturity that showcases her delicately defined style. Now based in New York, Sydney Wayser grew up in Los Angeles, spending her summers in Paris. Her musical influences (Piaf, Gainsbourg, Brel) are evident in her songwriting, which could easily provide a soundtrack to a Godard film or a scene from Jeunet's Amélie. With an unwavering sense of charm and wit, melody, and phrasing, her sophomore album The Colorful is an irresistible invitation to follow her into the light -- an invitation not to be denied.
