WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

The spring season of Storytelling at the Provincetown Playhouse features five Sundays of storytellers from the New York area celebrating the roots and courage of New Yorkers. The Song of the City Rides My River (2/10) - Laura Simms presents magical and zany tales of growing up in Brooklyn and Manhattan, including selections from her new award winning books. On the Wings of a Story (3/10) - Joyce Weiss and Scott Molampy use colorful puppets, masks, and drums to transport the audience to Puerto Rico and Africa. Courage Under Fire (3/17) - Drew Gibson presents a St. Patrick's Day tribute to the brave Irish fireman and to Irish New Yorkers who volunteered during the Civil War. (For ages 10 and up.) The Alligator's Tale (3/24) - River Collins humorous story about a baby alligator who survives New York's sewer system. These Are My Canyons (5/5) - Native American Franc Menusan celebrates New York from his unique perspective with stories and traditional music from his Metis-Muskogee heritage. Admission is free, but space is limited. All events except March 17 are recommended for ages 6 and up.
