A rare and exquisite acoustic evening of Arab musical luminaries when internationally celebrated Palestinian composer and 'ud and violin virtuoso Simon Shaheen brings together a unique musical tapestry of the Orient. Joined by members of all three of his world renowned ensembles -- Qantara, Near Eastern Ensemble, and String Quartet -- Shaheen will perform his original compositions and selections by the great Arab composers, showcasing his unique melding of traditional Arabic, Classical, jazz and world music styles. The evening will also feature a very special guest appearance by the legendary Armenian duduk master, Jivan Gasparyan and other special surprise guest artists. Opening the evening will be a cameo acoustic performance by Syria's Kulna Sawa (All of Us Together), in their North American debut. Kulna Sawa add a young modern twist to Arabic folk music, maintaining the integrity of their own Arabic cultural and musical heritage.
