WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Broadway star Shoshana Bean, inspired by her idol, Barbra Streisand, makes her triumphant concert debut in New York City with a show that's not to be missed. In her starring roles in Wicked, Hairspray, and the off-broadway revival of Godspell, Shoshana proved herself a force of nature. Shoshana brings her evening of music to Columbus Circle, where audiences will enjoy many Streisand classics alongside Shoshana's original music from her debut album, Superhero as she seamlessly blends the classic with the contemporary. Musical direction by James Sampliner and directed by theater legend Billy Porter. Sponsored by Ace Hotel. An Upright Cabaret production. Critical Praise "A star turn unlike any other." - BroadwayWorld.com "Bean seamlessly melded her own sultry style with a detail here and there that conjured fond memories of Streisand at her peak. The gracious and warm Bean managed to pay tribute to a great enertainer without ever once attempting mimickry. Yet it's easy to understand how La Streisand's confident, full-throttle delivery has influenced Bean's work." - Backstage "When I saw the show in LA this summer, it was an astonishing evening. Knowing Shoshana is a star isn't the same thing as watching her being a total star every step of the way." - Tony Award Winner Jason Robert Brown "Shoshana Bean has the kind of voice that angels might envy." - Daily News "Shoshana Bean sang Streisand, but her own magnetism drove the evening. It may have been a Streisand song and arrangement but the soulful vocal left no doubt that this happening was definitely Shoshana's." - Cabaret Scenes Magazine "Ms. Bean's singing was magnificent and stirring, always original, heartfelt, and quite funny when needed. She is a major talent and I feel lucky to have been there." - Blog Critics "Some singers defy description. They are just so plain amazing that it is difficult to classify them. Shoshana Bean happens to be amongst la creme de la creme of musical artists." - Grigware Talks Theatre
