Celebrate Shakespeare's birthday the Shaw way! Shaw and Shakespeare duke it out in two and a half wacky one-acts including The Dark Lady of the Sonnets, Shakes vs. Shav, and Cymbeline Refinished.
In Dark Lady, Shaw imagines Shakespeare meeting the woman who so inspired him, and goes face to face with Elizabeth I!
In Shakes vs. Shav, Shaw and Shakespeare duke it out by hauling out several of their more iconographic theatrical creations!
In Cymbeline Refinished, Shaw spoofs the convoluted last scene of Shakespeare's play!
All this plus sonnets, poetry and some bracing surprises!
