Shakin' the Rafters, a program by the Lincoln High School Choral Department, Thief River Falls, Minnesota, is the result of many months of study and performance by the ensemble. Led by director, Darcy Reece, the show pays tribute to American music and includes hymns, jazz pieces, rhythm and blues, spirituals, and gospel selections.
Leading up to the performance, the ensemble worked with professionals from the Twin Cities area, including Robert Robinson, a well-known gospel singer from Minneapolis and his Twin Cities Community Gospel Choir. Robinson has been called the "Pavarotti of gospel." Other professionals who worked with and performed with the choir are Michael Pilhoffer, drums; Adi Yeshava, piano; Ginger Commodore, vocalist; Kenni Holman, saxophone; Greg Keel, woodwinds; and Katie Christensen, an R & B singer and graduate of Lincoln High.
Some of the selections may include Amazing Grace," "Walkin' In Jerusalem," "Swing Down Chariot," "Elijah Rock," "Sleepin' Bee," "That Old Black Magic," "Oh Happy Day," "Hold On, Gospel Medley," and many more.
