This very special evening, benefiting the Save Darfur Coalition, celebrates the people of the Sudan while shedding light on the horrors of genocide still going on in Darfur. It features a screening of the Academy Award nominated documentary God Sleeps in Rwanda , a performance of the acclaimed theatre piece Waking Kya by Siobhan Fitzpatrick that features an African gospel choir, and several special guest speakers, including David Pressman, who led George Clooney's advocacy campaign. It also includes musical performances from rising R&B star Karmen Michael and the Latin jazz big band group IC EXPRESS. David Rubenstein, head of the Coalition, kicks off the event.
