WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

The sometimes antagonistic mother/daughter relationship has never been funnier. Unmarried New Yorker, Amy Loo decides to visit her mother in LA after losing her job. Even though mother and daughter are physically closer than ever, the gap between them widens as Rosa decides to find her daughter a husband. Amy digs in resisting her mother's overtures and the battle escalates. Tactics become more ruthless - and more uproarious: competing red dresses, a flying Peking duck and then the ultimate weapon ... What ensues is hilariously familiar to anyone who has experienced the generation gap, the culture gap, or just doesn't quite understand the relatives. Written by Kitty Chen. Directed by Nancy Robillard. Set Design by Charlie Wittreich. Costume Design by Debra Otte. Electric Theatre Lighting Design by Jim Langdom. QTIP Lighting Design by Chris Davis. Sound Design by Connor McGuigan. Prop Design by Elizabeth Feller. Electric Theatre Stage Manager Marybeth Langdon. QTIP Stage Manager Cyrille Blackburn. Featuring Nadia Gan, Wai Ching Ho, Glenn Kubota, Jodi Lin, Matt Rashid. Presented in association with the Electric Theatre Company of Scranton. Rosa Loses Her Face was originally presented as a developmental production by Luna Stage in Montclair, NJ in 1997.
