WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Repast teams up with violinist Claire Jolivet in a program portraying a century of trio sonata repertoire. In the baroque era, music for two violins, cello and harpsichord provided an intimate format in which composers freely offered their most original thoughts, just as the string quartet did in later times. The evening includes works of Purcell, Corelli, Handel, Couperin, and C.P.E. Bach's comically poignant Dialogue of Sanguineus and Melancholia.

Amelia Roosevelt & Claire Jolivet, Baroque Violins John Mark Rozendaal, Baroque Cello Avi Stein, Harpsichord.
