For the first time in New York, Broadway, Off-Broadway, downtown and the independent arts scene come together through Preview of the Arts 2011, a three-day event combining performances, dance, talks, film and stage readings that will stimulate, illuminate and tease the upcoming 2011 arts season.
PA?11 offers audiences a backstage look at theater, from preproduction, design, casting and staging to the process behind key decisions. This event will include previews of productions prior to opening night.
Bringing together celebrated artists from different disciplines, Preview of the Arts 2011 will explore everything from modes of expression and storytelling, to the rigors of the craft and the business of the arts, to feeding the beast - the art of creation itself.
PA?11 will hold seven ticketed events at The Public Theater's Joe's Pub. Our scheduling process will stagger in content - e.g., Talks, Stage Readings, Performance, Dance Ensemble, etc. - to present the greatest possible variety over the three-day event. The content will be created and programmed by our participants.
Preview of the Arts 2011 is a production of Artist Collective NYC, a nonprofit collective of established and emerging artists. ACNYC's mission is to enhance the exposure of artists through collaborations, publicity, exhibitions, benefits and hybrid events that sustain and reinvigorate the artistic community in New York City and abroad.
