The New York Theatre Experience, Inc. and Drama Book Shop celebrate the release of the new anthology Plays and Playwrights 2002 with a FREE Reading/Book Signing event.

The event will begin with readings from four of the ten plays included in the anthology. More than thirty actors will participate, including Curtiss I? Cook, who is currently appearing as ?Banzai the Hyena? in the Broadway production of The Lion King. Cook is a playwright as well as an actor and his play Reality is one of the ten plays featured in this volume. Cook and members of Tupu Kweli Theatre Company will read an excerpt from Reality at the event.

Readings from Chiori Miyagawa?s Woman Killer, Matthew Freeman?s The Death of King Arthur, and Ken Urban?s Halo round out the evening. After the readings, books will be available for sale to the public. Series editor Martin Denton and the featured playwrights will be on hand to sign copies. Light refreshments will be served.
