WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

The Joyce Theater welcomes back Pilobolus, a fan favorite for over twenty years! The company will present three programs consisting of two NYC premieres and one season highlight. Programs will include new shadow work and the third offering from the International Collaborators Project, as well as an array of recent and classic repertory. As always, Pilobolus is a definite "don't miss"!  SPECIAL OPENING NIGHT PROGRAM: Redline, Shadowland and other works to be announced Jul 13 at 7:30pm PROGRAM I - REDLINE: The first of three premieres this season, Redline examines the beauty and futility of physical battle. Accompanied by a driving and seductive score, this full company work is full of tremulous energy balanced by a graceful discipline. Redline, Darkness and Light, Walklyndon, Rushes Jul 14, 22 & Aug 3 at 7:30pm; Jul 17, 18, 30, 31 & Aug 6 at 8pm; Jul 25 at 2pm PROGRAM 2 - DOG-ID: a shadow collaboration between Pilobolus and Steven Banks (head writer for the hilarious animated series "SpongeBob SquarePants"). Dog-Id explores the phantasmagorical inner life of a young girl swept into a shifting world made only of lightness and dark. Dog-Id, Pseudopodia, Gnomen, Lanterna Magica, Megawatt Jul 15, 27 & Aug 4 at 7:30pm; Jul 16, 24, 25, Aug 7 at 8pm; Jul 18, Aug 1 & 8 at 2pm PROGRAM 3 - BOARDERLESS INNOVATION: This brand-new collaboration with the wonderful Israeli choreographers Inbal Pinto and Avshalom Pollak, co-creators of 2007's hit Rushes, ushers us onto a surreal boulevard of broken dreams. New work with Pinto and Pollak, Pseudopodia, Razor : Mirror, Symbiosis, Day TwoJul 20, 21, 28, 29 & Aug 5 at 7:30pm; Jul 23, Aug 1 & 8 at 8pm
