Having penned songs for Ray Charles, Aaron Neville, Joe Cocker, and Pops Staples, Philadelphia singer/songwriter Phil Roy takes center stage with songs from his critically acclaimed solo album Issues + Options. Roy's music at once evokes Tom Waits, Bill Withers, and Van Morrison. His song "Melt," co-written with friend and fan Nicolas Cage, was named 2002 "Song of the Year" by WFUV-FM. Part of the Spring 2004 series of American Songbook.
