Readings from an extraordinary new volume of deeply moving writing by US soldiers and their families about their experiences in Afghanistan and Iraq and on the homefront.

The anthology grew out of fifty National Endowment for the Arts-sponsored workshops, led by such prominent authors as Tobias Wolff, Tom Clancy, and Bobbie Ann Mason, where servicemen and women were encouraged to write freely and openly about their lives in wartime.

The collection's editor, New York Times best-selling author Andrew Carroll, and NEA Chairman Dana Gioia provide introductions. Joan Allen and Matthew Modine will join Stephen Lang as readers.
