Now that those other awards are over, it's time to visit that so-often overlooked and undiscovered country that is Off-Off Broadway, at the 6th Annual OOBR Awards.
The OOBR Awards honor some of the best (and at times, most unusual) that Off-Off Broadway has to offer. In addition to the presentation of the awards, there are sample performances from the following shows:
Urinetown! (The Musical) - Written by Mark Hollman and Greg Kotis. Produced by Theatre of the Apes and the Present Company Theatorium, this is the ultimate in bathroom humor!
Parker - Produced by Suzie Devore and the 42nd Street WorkShop. Kathleen O'Grady and Michael Connors perform The Last Tea, one of Dorothy Parker's pieces adapted for the stage.
Ice in April - Produced by Razor Productions and Sage Theatre. Writer-director Frank Avellino uses the Titanic tragedy as a study of human nature.
Berlin to Broadway with Kurt Weill - Produced by Theater 1010. Four talented singers perform the works of composer Kurt Weill.
