WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
The Joseph Papp Public Theater/New York Shakespeare Festival annouces its 2001 Summer Benefit, honoring Gail Merrifield Papp, wife of the late Joseph Papp. The event features a performance of this summer's star-studded production of The Seagull. Tickets range from $500 to $25,000, with the latter contribution including priority seating for 25 for that evening's performance. There is a pre-show Bar-B-Q, as well as a post-show dessert/champagne reception with members of the cast at Belvedere Castle in Central Park. A $10,000 contribution includes ten preferred seats for the play, the pre-show Bar-B-Q and the dessert reception. $500 includes preferred seating for one of that evening's performance. Proceeds go to support The Joseph Papp/New York Shakespeare Festival.
