New Federal Theater Playwriting Workshop

Woodie King Jr's New Federal Theater presents the historic 2002-2003 Playwriting Workshop, conducted by noted playwright Laurence Holder. Workshops are on Saturdays from 6-9pm. $200 per session.

Laurence Holder has been writing plays for the New York stage for 30 years He is the author of five volumes of plays entitled The Renaissance Plays Series, published by 1st Books Library. He is currently Professor of English at John Jay College of Criminal Justice where he teaches Creative Writing and English.

This course is designed for beginners, intermediate and advanced students. Students will be given assignments and have their work read in class so they can hear their work which will be critiqued and then encouraged to continue with their work guided by the critique. There will be a public reading of the works developed in the class at the end of the workshop.
