The Moscow Festival Ballet was founded in 1989 when legendary principal dancer of the Bolshoi Ballet, Sergei Radchenko, sought to realize his vision of a company which would bring together the highest classical elements of the great Bolshoi and Kirov Ballet companies. Most people are very familiar with the rags-to-riches story of Cinderella and, although countless versions of the Cinderella story exist, the ballet is based on the one we all know so well. Cinderella is the endearing story of a young girl who finds love and happiness through her acts of kindness. The ballet is based on the fairy tale written by French storyteller Charles Perrault. Cinderella isn't just a movie, it's a ballet too, and it deserves equal amounts of attention.
