The Hypothetical Theater Company will present a reading of Moomtaj, a new play by Michael Weller, starring Kevin Kline, Lewis Black, Lisa Emery, Betsy Aidem, and Polly Lee. It will be presented one night only as a benefit for The Hypothetical Theater Company.

In Moomtaj, modern Average Joe finds himself trying to negotiate life in a post-terrorist-attack New York where security and a happy middle class existence seem increasingly unattainable. A visit by his mysterious, slacker half-brother with a forbidden computer brings him back to memories of a gypsy-like childhood in Las Vegas and San Francisco. He is gradually lured into a wild adventure in a mental continent that is part Arabian Nights, part Marx Brothers and 100% surreal slapstick, teeming with thinly disguised figures from his everyday life; a Middle Eastern queen, some good and evil warriors, a court musician, a sinister Sufi and a deaf/blind prince, all enlisted to lure him towards a final encounter.
