Three extraordinary Chinese composer-improvisers, all children under the Cultural Revolution, join forces with musical maverick Carl Stone for a genre-blurring voyage. Min Xiao-Fen (pipa, vocal, and electronic), Wu Wei (sheng, erhu, and xun), and Xu Fengxia (zheng and vocal) have all received universal acclaim for redefining their instruments and creating new music from traditional roots. Together with Stone, a pioneer of live computer music and digital sampling, the trio performs the world premiere of Stone's Ghost Karaoke.
