WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Comedian and Yiddish expert Michael Wex discusses his book Born to Kvetch: Yiddish Language and Culture in All of Its Moods. The book is an unparalleled combination of linguistics, stand-up comedy, the Babylonian Talmud, and a one-person show -- all of it based on some of the strangest turns of phrase ever to be uttered. Yiddish is presented in what the author refers to as "all its divine weirdness" by one of the few people left who knows the culture from inside.
