WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Feinstein's at Loews Regency concludes its fall 2007 season with the return of the club's founder Michael Feinstein. His new show Winter Dreams will feature seasonal favorites and contemporary standards, in addition to a tribute to singing legends of the past such as Rosemary Clooney, Bing Crosby, Tony Martin and Kay Thompson. Feinstein will be joined by an all-star band including musical director John Oddo on piano, Bucky Pizzarelli on guitar, Jay Leonhart on bass, Joe Cocuzzo on drums, and a trio of backup singers.
Michael Feinstein, one of the premiere interpreters of American popular song, has been a household name since the success of his 1988 one-man Broadway show, Isn't It Romantic. He enjoys an active performance calendar, including major concert halls, symphony orchestras, intimate jazz clubs and college campuses. More than a mere performer, he is nationally recognized for his commitment to the American popular song, both celebrating its art and preserving its legacy for the next generation.
He is currently producing a CD for his friend Liza Minnelli based on the music of her godmother Kay Thompson, the famed author, singer and arranger. He served as host and consultant on the new PBS documentary film "Soundies: A Musical History" and has written the score for a new stage musical The Gold Room, opening soon in London's West End.

At second blush, what seems so cute can very easily turn poisonous when the fan becomes disruptive. But the star showed what years of experience -- and a quick wit -- can do for a performer at a perilous turn. He poked good-natured jabs at the woman, getting laughs from the audience without embarrassing his loutish fan. Then, when she still wouldn't quit, he wisely stopped giving her his attention, purposefully not responding.
Fortunately, the woman [...]
