WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
In Mercer, Mercer, Me, Barbara Brussell continues to explore the life and songs of Johnny Mercer, and in Other Huckleberry Friends, she illuminates an array of other great classic and contemporary songwriters. Some have influenced, and others have been influenced by Johnny. Among them, Richard Whiting, Harold Arlen, Hoagy Carmichael, Sammy Cahn, John Wallowitch, Christine Lavin, and a new songwriting team, Varick Bacon and Powers McElhone.
