The Metropolitan Opera Guild presents a one-night-only staged reading of Terrence McNally's Tony Award-winning play, Master Class, which examines the amazing life and loves of opera diva Maria Callas. In this fascinating portrait, the retired Callas has consented to teach a series of master classes. But this is no ordinary music lesson and Callas is no ordinary woman as she seethes with the emotions that fueled her unorthodox style and unforgettable life. A roster of great actresses will share the role of Callas during the evening, including Kathy Bates, Edie Falco, Dixie Carter, Jessica Lange, Maria Tucci, and Leslie Uggams.
