Cape Verdean chanteuse Maria de Barros invited us into her culture's joyful musical tradition with her two internationally acclaimed albums Nha Mundo and Danca Ma Mi. In her upcoming release Morabeza, Maria reconnects with her roots and the people of her ancestral home of Cabo Verde. Morabeza (translation: friendliness, hospitality & warmth) is dedicated to her beloved Cabo Verde. "The stories told in the songs are poetic description of real and profound human emotions that are not just felt by Cabo Verdeans, but by the rest of the world," she adds.
