Though a benefit like The National Yiddish Theatre - Folksbiene's annual gala is no laughing matter, this one will be a scream. Laugh: Doctor's Orders! stars a cavalcade of comedians, comedy writers, and musical theatre ensembles from Broadway and the Yiddish stage, television and the backrooms of joke factories from L.A. to Monticello. The lineup includes Mickey Freeman, Fyvush Finkel, Freddie Roman, and Judy Gold. Carol Leifer emcees.

Also appearing are the cast of this season's smash hit musical Di Yam Gazlonim, the Yiddish remake of The Pirates of Penzance; the cast of the long-running satirical revue Forbidden Broadway; the sharp wit of Bel Kaufman; and Broadway and Hollywood legends Eli Wallach and Anne Jackson.
