WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Fiesta Cubana is a celebration of the diverse spectrum of Cuban dance and music forms, performed by OYU ORO and acclaimed Cuban guest musicians, Pedrito Martinez and Roman Diaz. Internationally renowned folklore artist, Danys Perez "La Mora" will illustrate the roots of Cuban culture and its artistic tradition with a touch of contemporary accent. The spiritual expressions from the traditional Afro-Cuban repertories are deeply rooted in the sacred manifestations derived from Yoruba and Dahomeyan cultures of west Africa. The electrifying expressions from the Cuban-Popular repertories were developed from a blend of the Spanish influence and the African roots in Cuba. Excitement, energy and joy will mount over the theater, followed by the festive opening party to kick off this year's festival.
