In February 2005 the Irish Arts Center presents Irish Literature On Film, an opportunity to see some of Ireland's best loved novels and plays in their cinematic format.


Langrishe, Go Down is based on the novel by Aidan Higgins. Screenplay by Harold Pinter. Jeremy Irons and Judi Dench deliver stunning performances in this compelling BBC drama. Living in Dublin while he completes his thesis, a German graduate student (Irons) embarks on a steamy affair with a fading English aristocrat (Dench). As the relationship begins to grow beyond the mutual sexual desire it was forged on, they both must decide if their futures lie together or apart. Annette Crosbie, Susan Williamson also star.
