WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
The Collegiate Chorale presents a concert version of Kurt Weill and Maxwell Anderson's Knickerbocker Holiday, at Alice Tully Hall. Ted Sperling directs the performances, which is conducted by James Bagwell.
The musical centers on a romance that develops in New York when it was still under the rule of the Dutch and the colony's newest governor, Peter Stuvesant.
The cast includes Victor Garber (Stuyvesant), Ben Davis (Brom), Bryce Pinkham (Washington Irving), David Garrison (Tienhoven), Kelli O'Hara (Tina), and Christopher Fitzgerald (Tenpin), along with The Collegiate Chorale and the American Symphony Orchestra.

Theatergoers can hear German composer Kurt Weill still trying to find his American voice in the musical Knickerbocker Holiday, which is being given a two-performance concert run at Alice Tully Hall by the Collegiate Chorale.
Adapted from Washington Irving's 1809 history of New York, and featuring book and lyrics by playwright Maxwell Anderson, the show has aspirations to be both a light-hearted romantic confection and a biting satire about the abuse of political power.
